General
-
How are the Design Center selections paid for?
-
All personal selections can be added to a buyer’s mortgage. A non-refundable deposit may be required for personal selections depending on the value of the selections and on the community. Please call us for specifics.
-
What should someone bring to their appointment?
-
Pillows from your furniture and swatches of fabric are two examples. Bring anything that we help you and your Design Consultant understand the look you want for your home.
-
During the construction of our home, can we visit the site anytime?
-
NO!! Although LaMontagne Builders respects the enthusiasm a new home buyer has, we also work very hard to keep our site a Danger Free Zone. The personnel working on the new home are trained to work in construction environments and protect themselves from harm. At times, there may be as many as 20 people working in a home at one time. By visiting the sites during construction, you are exposing yourself to huge risks, and possibly delaying the construction of your home. It is best to schedule a time when your New Home Consultant can accompany you. We ask that you respect the hours of construction from 7am-4pm Monday - Friday and not visit the sites.
-
Can we visit the Design Center before we decide on a community?
-
The Design Center is open by appointment once a LaMontagne Builders team member has signed a Purchase and Sales agreement. This is to ensure each customer receives the one on one appointment time they deserve.
-
What is the process a buyer will follow with LaMontagne Builders?
-
Our buyers will first select the community where they would like to purchase a home. A New Home Consultant will assist in selecting a lot that is available and a home style based on the buyers needs and that is compatible to the lot and site. After the initial construction options are selected, a contract will be written. Once the contract has been reviewed and signed by a LaMontagne Builders team member, an appointment will be scheduled at the LaMontagne Builders Design Center. Selections will be made, compiled together, and sent out to the site to begin construction. This streamlined selection process allows us to construct your home in a timely, less stressful manner.
-
How long will it take to build a house?
-
The time will vary depending on the size, the options selected and the season of the year. It is our goal to go from contract to closing in 120 days whenever possible.
-
Will LaMontagne Builders build a home using an owners set of plans?
-
The design team at LaMontagne Builders had developed a catalog of home styles that are offered in our various communities. They vary in size and design according the community.
-
Can we purchase only a lot?
-
We do not sell lots only. We plan, develop and build neighborhood communities, working to keep community focus uniform.

Why should someone upgrade selections now, what are the advantages?
-
Probably the most important reason is the convenience. The personal selections will be installed and completed when a buyer moves into their new home. All products and workmanship will also be covered under the builders and manufacturers warranty. The cost of the personal selections can also be added into your mortgage instead of cash out of your pocket. Also, what most people do not realize, by having the work done later, you may potentially be paying for the labor twice. There might also be an additional fee for removal of debris.
-
What are the most popular upgrades through the Design Center?

How does one prepare for their Design Center appointment?
-
Consider your lifestyle. Do you have children or pets? Do you like to entertain, and if so, where in your home? Do you like a formal style, or are you more into comfort? What do you envision in your home?
-
How long will the Design Center appointment last?
-
The Design Center appointment consists of two separate appointments. The first appointment is a browsing/plan review. A Design Consultant will spend part of this allotted time going over plans and personal selections. The remainder of the appointment is when a buyer is free to pick out selections, browse through the pricing book and compile a list of question for the final appointment. The final appointment is called the “Blue Book” appointment. The allotted time for this is three (3) hours. All personal selections must be completed during the blue book appointment.
-
What are the hours of the Design Center?
